About Us

4Corners K-9 Search and Rescue is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Our mission is to educate, assist, locate, and rescue missing persons on Native American Tribal lands and communities. Additionally, our goal is to recruit, train, promote, and educate team members, volunteers, legislators, advocates, tribal communities, and law enforcement on various search strategies while still considering, respecting, and honoring Native American land and culture. Another goal would be to collect proper data for future searches that will bring attention and awareness to the rise of missing Natives on tribal lands so we can strive for everyone to effectively and coherently collaborate and work together to quickly locate missing loved ones. We serve the Navajo Nation which is about 27,673 square miles that spreads across into New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and Arizona.

During my time with my previous SAR team, I was approached by many families from across the Navajo Nation requesting help with searches or just general questions and information on what they should do to find their missing loved ones. I also found that there are many issues and complications that exist and that families are faced with. Due to these issues and the many requests, 4Corners K-9 Search and Rescue (4CK9SAR) was founded. 4Corners K-9 Search and Rescue is the first Native Owned K-9 Search and Rescue on the Navajo Nation. My K-9’s, Trigger, Gunny (German/Czech Shepherd Dogs) and I have received all our certifications and training through the state of New Mexico. Their primary skill is live find, and their secondary skill is human remains.
We currently have 7 team members who come from Phoenix AZ, Dilkon AZ, Durango CO, Gallup NM, Mission SD, Kirtland NM and Shiprock NM. All our team members are working mothers and fathers who donate their selfless time to travel to help on these searches. The majority of our funding comes from our own pockets.

We look forward to working together with more communities to help grow 4Corners K-9 Search and Rescue so we can provide more assistance to many more families in need of our services and to find a solution to help combat the growing crisis of our missing and murdered indigenous loved ones!
